Tasting Notes
Neal Martin 92
The 2020 Meursault Le Pièce Sous Le Bois 1er Cru comes from a parcel owned by the Pernot family that was regrafted from red varieties in 2000. It has a finely-tuned nose with traces of grilled walnut and almond scents, needing a little encouragement from the glass, not a million miles away from a Genevrières in style. The palate is feisty, a bit of a wild child and there is nothing wrong with that. Good weight and plenty of spice towards the finish that gets the saliva flowering. I could imagine this with Asian cuisine.
