Tasting Notes
Eric Guido 92
The 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Vigna Le Macchiarelle from Fanti is noticeably dark and rich in the glass. Notes of crushed plums and cherries are contrasted by exotic spice, dried citrus and cinnamon sugar. It’s velvety, almost creamy in feel, maintaining balance in spite of its large-scale feel with a tactile display of mineral-tinged wild berries and mentholated herbs. This finishes structured yet with enough primary fruit to warrant cellaring for ten years or more.
